Obituary: Dr. Sally Gatchalian

As we fight the battle against the COVID pandemic we lose our precious colleagues who take care of the sick in addition to the many more around the world.

APAAACI expresses our deepest condolences and shares in the sorrow of the sad demise of our colleague and mentor to many PSAAI members Dr. Sally Gatchalian as she succumbed to COVID-19 yesterday morning

Known to be compassionate and dedicated, Dr. Sally was the President, Philippine Pediatric Society and an infectious disease specialist and a Past President of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society of the Philippines. She was also professor at the university of the Philippines- PhilIppine general hospital and deputy director of the research institute of tropical medicine .

We thank Dr. Sally for her dedicated efforts to save the lives of COVID patients and may her soul rest in peace
